Cheyenne and Cody’s Arches National Park Elopement was an absolute blast! We are grateful that Cheyenne + Cody trusted us with documenting three very important chapters of their love story. Alex and I were lucky enough to create their engagement photos, their destination elopement in Utah, and their intimate wedding celebration with family back home in Wisconsin!
Alex and I loved designing the plan for the logistics of the day. We picked out where they would say I do and the photo locations we would travel to as the sun continued to set. We even researched and hiked to the Corona Arch outside the park to get a drone shot for their video!(the link to the video is down below the photos!) Ultimately, we were there for Cheyenne + Cody every step of the way.
Cheyenne had a pretty clear vision of what the day could look like. They have loved each other for 10 years. She had been subliminally planning it for the duration of their relationship. I loved to see all of her ideas come to fruition.
Cheyenne has such girly attention to detail, loves to thrift, and has a passion for the bohemian decor style. I love and admire her style and eye for design. Along the way, Cheyenne would ask us for our opinion on dress selection, and floral arrangements, and would even send us hype photos about all of the little details coming together. It felt like I was helping my bestie plan her big day.
We help align all of the details that will make your elopement everything you will love and more! Alex and I will apply for the permits, advise on the location, solidify the timeline, etc to make sure your day is as smooth and fun as possible.
Cody + Cheyenne eloped beneath the Sand Dune Arch in Arches National Park just outside of Moab, UT. The Sand Dune Arch is dwarfed by giant towering rocks guarding the ceremony space against direct light. The abundance of shade makes it the perfect little hideaway for an intimate ceremony. The ceremony location even provided a tuck-away spot for Cheyenne to slip into her beautiful elopement dress.
The location was perfect. Sand Dune Arch had begun to vacate as the ceremony was beginning. For the duration of the ceremony, it remained the five of us alone. As Adam announced the new Mr. + Mrs. Sokolik a surge of tourists and hikers began cheering and congratulating them. The timing of it all was surreal, it was like a scene from a ’90s RomCom.
Their officiant was Cheyenne’s long-time bestie Adam and his quick wit had us all crying with laughter throughout the elopement.
When you talk about your session with us, how do you tell it? I loved how we felt like instant friends. What could have been an uncomfortable, awkward time having photos done by strangers was so far from that. You brought out so much joy and happiness in us and our photos show that and tell stories and memories that we will forever cherish. We can look back and recall parts of what had us laughing so hard. You embarked on our journey of eloping and created even more intimate moments with us, showering us with your presence. I honestly could go on and on about how incredibly special people y’all are.
What was the most memorable part of the day? Saying our vows in Arches National Park!!! It felt like it was just us alone in our moment, only to look up and see that we had a crowd of folks sharing our moment with us.
What part of the session made you feel like you were exactly where you were supposed to be? We wanted an elopement location that we had never been to. Our dear friend Adam would be the officiant and we wanted the whole day to be memorable. Our engagement session was such a blast we knew we would love the vibe y’all bring to our elopement. We were grateful to have your assistance planning the elopement details and that took so much stress out of the equation.
How is the location of the session special to your love story? The location(s) each hold special things for us; we had been to the places for our engagement shoot but never fully embraced them like we did that night. Our Utah elopement was more than we could’ve pictured, and a new destination that we really wanted to see. We are so happy our paths have crossed one another and we get to brag about you 24/7!
