This California couples session was at the top of our list to share with you all! Point Dume State Beach is located in Malibu, California and this location will forever be one of our favorites to shoot at! We had such a the best time collaborating with Brooke and Quinton for this couples session! Brooke is a photographer and this session was extra special because they had their engagement photos captured here and it is a sacred location for them!

Malibu Couples Session | Chasing Sunsets Photo and Film

We decided on sunrise for our adventure and we are so glad we did. Sunrise is such an amazing time to take beautiful photos and it needs to stop getting slept on! There are so many less people out and the temperatures are much more mild. However, it can be a little chilly in Malibu at sunrise, so be ready to get extra snuggly with your lover. The best part about sunrise is that you rise with the sun, which leads to creating with abundant light and less stress.

A dreamy sunrise experience in Malibu

Malibu is the Hawaii of California. The rolling green mountains are so lush and full of life. I love how tropical the entire beach town felt. We loved shooting here at Point Dume, because of the sense of community. Neighbors would visit this park to hike to the top of the rock for the perfect whale watching spot above the beach.

Sunrise here is our favorite because of the way the sunlight pours over the rock. It is an absolutely stunning to witness early in the morning and has a way of propelling your day in the right direction. Consider sunrise for your next photo shoot! It is so worth it!
